Recent Neurobiological studies in subjects with Alzheimer’s disease, post-stroke, and traumatic brain injuries show improvement when treated with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).
Subjects with neurological conditions using HBOT had cellular and molecular changes in their nervous systems. These changes were positive in improving neurological functions.
Further research is in order; however, the current results show promise for other neurological conditions – cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and autism spectrum disorder.
Several states already approved HBOT to treat veterans for PTSD. And there is a bill in the Senate (The HBOT Acess Act of 2021) to make HBOT an available resource for veterans suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
